Branding Mistakes

Do your brand a favour: Don’t be vanilla

I found it challenging finding an image for this post. And that is saying a lot/everything.

People aren’t uploading photos of plain vanilla ice-cream; photographers seem to feel the need to add something to make the photographs more interesting. Add a brownie, sprinkles, cherries, cake, something to break that plainness.

Vanilla is incredibly useful; it is a non threatening flavour that almost everyone can tolerated. It is safe enough to serve at a party in the knowledge that it will be consumed and even finished. It also serves as a great background to help more wonderful flavours ‘pop’, but, only very rarely, do we remember vanilla.

Would you travel across town or pay a ridiculous amount of money for a tub of vanilla ice-cream? Likely not. We reserve that for those speciality ice creams people speak about for months; chilli infused ice-cream, honeysuckle ice-cream etc.

Do your self and your brand justice and don’t be vanilla; try chilli or saffron and cardamom,we will definitely be talking about you afterwards.
